I’ve been carrying a camera around since I was little. My dad and grandpa were always making home videos and taking pictures with their film cameras. As a teenager I was obsessed with all things music. I was constantly watching MTV and Fuse for the music videos. I’d actually record music videos on VHS to watch later. I had the largest collection of CD’s and of course my own burnt discs. My room was filled top to bottom with artist posters and ripped pages of magazines, plastered all over the walls. Music was my escape. I was a rebel at a young age, constantly going to shows- sneaking out- to go to shows, having my parents drop me off at music festivals. I was obsessed. I went to college for photography but never once thought I would be doing music photography. My first show happened because an old coworker knew I was a photographer and they needed a last minute person to shoot at their venue. That night happened and I never looked back.
